Chest Pain Coordinator Certification
Swank distinguished as the only Certified Chest Pain Coordinator in Southern Arizona
Tucson, AZ (August 15, 2012) — Northwest Medical Center (NMC) is pleased to announce Nancy Swank, RN, Chest Pain Coordinator, has earned the recognition of Certified Chest Pain Coordinator by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC). This recognition distinguishes Swank as the only Certified Chest Pain Coordinator in Southern Arizona and one of only two Certified Chest Pain Coordinators in Arizona.
As a Certified Chest Pain Coordinator, Swank has demonstrated an enhanced skill set in team building, process improvement, strategic data utilization, provider education and project management.
NMC is an accredited Chest Pain Center by the SCPC. Chest pain is among the top symptoms of patients who visit the NMC Emergency Room (ER). This designation means any patient who comes to NMC experiencing chest pain can be confident he or she is receiving care that meets or exceeds the highest national standards of care.
Swank's Chest Pain Coordinator certification means she is better able to:
- Support the effectiveness of the NMC Chest Pain Center and promote professional and hospital success by defining and obtaining the requisite knowledge and skills to fulfill her responsibilities effectively
- Demonstrate mastery of an acquired body of knowledge and skills in chest pain continuum of care through successful completion of the certification process
- Identify individuals with substantive knowledge and skills in leadership for the benefit of all staff involved in the chest pain care continuum
