Ever since high school, where I first discovered a love for biology and math, I knew I wanted to have a lifelong career in medicine.
I graduated from the US Air Force Physician Assistant program with a Master’s degree in PA studies from the University of Nebraska. During my 22 year military career, I was a decorated officer with many accolades, including Physician Assistant of the Year for the entire Air Combat Command in 1999. I was stationed at Davis Monthan Medical Clinic from 2000-2004, which is how my family and I came to know and love Tucson.
In my 16 years as a board-certified physician assistant, some of the best advice I ever received was “listen to the patient and trust they know their body best.” To this day I live by that mantra. I make it a priority to always take the time to evaluate the entire patient and listen to what he or she says. Listening intently allows me to understand the patient’s symptoms, feelings and how to best treat them. I believe my patients would describe me as a good listener and someone they trust with their healthcare needs.
I am originally from Boston. I met my wife in the Air Force, where she worked as a surgical technician. In my free time, I enjoy racquetball, biking and playing the drums.
*Physician Assistants are licensed health professionals qualified to practice medicine with supervision by licensed physicians. Intensive education and credentialing enable PAs to provide most physician services ranging from primary care to highly technical specialties."
