About Devonna Johnson-Puroll
From a young age, I was interested in medicine and when I had the opportunity to go to nursing school, I took it. As a registered nurse (RN), I worked almost every unit in the hospital. However, after being an RN for many years, I wanted to make stronger connections with my patients. I went back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner which allows me to follow my patients, develop their plan of care and give them the tools to live healthier lives. It also allows me to treat patients in every stage of life, from children to seniors.
I believe patients would describe me as a good listener, caring, approachable, knowledgeable, down-to-earth and having a great bedside manner. Every day, I practice from the point of “what is best for the patient” and “treat everyone as you want to be treated.” I am a firm believer in choices and providing the patient the most information I can to make an informed decision about their health care. I want to partner with the patient in their health care journey. I also want to provide the patient with the education and experiences afforded to a provider and an honest provider point of view.
As a primary care provider, I treat a wide variety of conditions; however I am especially interested in wound care. I also enjoy well-woman care and every day sick calls, as I like the challenge of diagnosing what’s going on with a patient at that exact moment in time.
When I’m not caring for patients, I live on several acres with my animals (horses, mules, dogs and goats). I also enjoy cooking and sewing.
