GI or gastrointestinal tract health is a top priority at Northwest Medical Center. We offer patients a number of diagnostic procedures and therapies that use the latest technology in endoscopy. What’s the benefit? Your doctors get a clear look at parts of the body not easily accessible by other methods, and you get GI care that you can trust, close to home.
Upper Endoscopy uses a thin, flexible tube to look inside the esophagus, stomach and part of the small intestine. Sedation is often used during this procedure.
Colonoscopy uses a narrow, flexible instrument to look at the large intestine and part of the lower small intestine. Sedation is often used during this procedure.
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) is similar to the upper endoscopy, but also uses dye to study the ducts of the gallbladder, pancreas and liver. Sedation is also used during this procedure.
EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) is a minimally invasive option used to detect cancer and diseases of internal organs and evaluate masses in the lining of the GI tract or in enlarged stomach folds.
Many procedures use X rays and dye to look at internal organs.
