Physical Therapy

Physical therapy at Northwest Medical Center helps preserve, develop and restore physical function that's been lost due to injury, disease or other causes.

Physical therapy may include treatment for pain, muscle spasm, range of motion, strength, posture, balance and endurance. Specific goals are set for each patient's needs. Typical goals are to improve range of motion of a joint, increase muscle strength and improve walking ability.

In addition to providing postsurgical services, such as after a joint replacement, common conditions treated include:

• acute and chronic pain management
• balance
• incontinence/pelvic floor therapy
• lymphedema therapy
• manual therapy
• mastectomy program
• neurological rehabilitation
• orthopedic and sports rehabilitation
