From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. My father is a physician and watching him affect peoples’ lives in such a unique way inspired me to follow in his footsteps. As a physician, it is important to me to be accessible to patients, a role model, and a contributor to the community I call home.
Patients often ask me, “Why sports medicine?” This answer is simple – I truly love sports. I grew up playing every sport and continue to lead a very active life. Being an athlete myself gives me better insight into the psyche of the athletes I care for.
I chose Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine because, as an Osteopath, I believe in the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. I use Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment with a focus on structure and function to help my patients achieve optimal health. I believe patients would describe me as compassionate, caring, attentive, knowledgeable, patient, and a good communicator. I always try to go the extra mile to ensure my patients are well taken care of and spend ample time with them ensuring they understand their diagnoses.
My treatment goal is to understand the cause of musculoskeletal pain and affect it at its origin. When it comes to developing the treatment plan, my patient and I are a team working toward a goal. That goal is getting patients back on the field or court, back to work, or back to the activities they enjoy as quickly and safely as possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy watching all sports, particularly football, basketball, and baseball. I also enjoy working out, softball, basketball, golf, running, biking, camping, boating, and snow skiing.
