Dr. Francisco Rivera is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with a special interest in caring for the senior population. He completed his residency at a Veteran’s Administration hospital and with his ample experience, Dr. Rivera feels he has a special ability to communicate with and care for older adults.
Dr. Rivera knew from a very early age he wanted to be in a profession where he could help others. A college biology class opened his eyes to the challenges posed by medicine; and later, shadowing a transplant physician sparked his interest in kidney disease patients.
He chose internal medicine for its breadth and versatility. Dr. Rivera combines the attributes of a clinician, diagnostician, procedural expert and consultant to other specialties into a fulfilling practice. He believes his patients would describe him as good listener, empathic, compassionate and trustworthy. He views his patients not as conditions or cases, but as human beings he can advise and partner with in finding solutions to their health care issues.
When he’s not working, Dr. Rivera can be found hiking, bird watching, and attending concerts and plays. He also enjoys traveling and learning about history and other cultures.
