As a child, I watched my mother become a breast cancer survivor with the help of her surgeon. This experience served to guide my decision to dedicate my career to the field of general surgery and to devote my practice to achieving outcomes that offer lasting success.
Holding the philosophy that each patient should be a partner in the development of a plan of care, I believe that collaborative discussions promote focused resolutions. While supporting patient autonomy, my goals are to provide guidance, answers, and remedies. From diagnosis to recovery, I aim to approach each step with clinical acumen, sensitivity, and compassion.
As a rule, I strive to use minimally invasive techniques whenever indicated. These "laparoscopic" procedures use small holes instead of large incisions which typically means less pain and caring for patients. I have special interest in procedures to correct acid reflux (GERD) and the management of Barrett's Esophagus cause by GERD.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, painting in water color, and landscape and wildlife photography.
