Pain is a complex medical problem that can have a severe impact on your physical and mental well-being. At Northwest Tucson Surgery Center, we utilize several modes of pain intervention, including fluoroscopy (x-ray) guided procedures, to help decrease your pain and suffering and help restore optimal quality of life. Our patients are usually scheduled for treatment after an initial consultation with a physician that specializes in pain management. Treatment usually occurs after an initial consultation with a physician that specializes in pain management and lasts for approximately three to six months.
Many people experience back pain. While pain can come on suddenly after a wrong twist or turn, pain may also develop gradually growing from occasional spasms in to a chronic painful condition. Most back pain is caused by problems with muscles and ligaments, including herniated discs, a condition in which a portion of the disc protrudes into the area containing the spinal nerves. Pain or numbness in the legs, called sciatica, can be associated with herniated discs, fractures, degenerative changes of the spine or arthritis.
